Description:
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' new teaser bizarrely ruins many of its
biggest surprises.
FULL STORY ======================================================================HBO has released a new 'in the weeks ahead' trailer for A Knight of the Seven
Kingdoms It arrived after the new Game of Thrones TV show's premiere The teaser contains some big spoilers for the high fantasy series
A new 'in the weeks ahead' trailer has been unveiled for A Knight of the
Seven Kingdoms ( AKotSK ) and I'm genuinely surprised by how much it spoils.
Released by HBO after the show premiered on January 18/19, the two
minute-long teaser includes footage from all six of this season's episodes. And, while it doesn't spoil one of the biggest reveals in The Hedge Knight , ie the book that AKoTSK season 1 adapts, the trailer doesn't exactly keep its narrative cards close to its chest.
If you decided not to watch the above trailer for spoiler-based reasons,
don't worry, I'm not going to describe the footage within in this article. That way, you'll be able to watch the Game of Thrones prequel's plot unfold
as each new episode drops make sure you read my AKotSK episode 1 guide to
see when new chapters will be released.
But I digress. Barring a couple of major storytelling moments, it is odd that the plot of the HBO Max TV Original's debut season is basically laid out in full in the latest teaser trailer.
Admittedly, The Hedge Knight isn't a particularly long book. At just 66
pages, the George R.R. Martin-penned novella, which is also the first entry
in the acclaimed author's 'Dunk and Egg' literary trilogy, doesn't come close to matching the increasingly gargantuan tomes of Martin's main Game of
Thrones book series. Save for a major spoiler or two, Dunk and Egg's first adventure is laid out in full by this trailer (Image credit: Steffan

Given how long some of those novels are, there were plenty of story shockers and other big reveals that HBO could withhold from similar trailers
indicating what was to come in each of Game of Thrones ' seasons. It wasn't necessary, then, to include the biggest ones in such teaser.
Still, while the multi-award-winning US TV network will have wanted to whet viewers' appetite with this AKotSK season 1 trailer, I can't help but think that it didn't need to show, well, half of the footage it does. Based on some of the YouTube comments written underneath this sizzle reel, it seems a few audience members are similarly bemused by how much it spoils, too.
If you're looking for less spoiler-heavy AKotSK content to check out, I'd suggest reading up on everything we know about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and see why it was almost turned into the first Game of Thrones movie instead of a TV show.
Once you're done there, read my review of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to get a feel for what else lies in store for Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg without, you know, the spoilers.
