[CPI Report Reveals Inflation Trends] Um... hey everyone, I just read through the latest CPI report and it's really bendy! The cost of living for Americans went up by 0. 3% in December, bringing the annual inflation rate to 2.
7%. Thats way above what the Federal Reserve aims for2%! So, uh, does that mean we're gonna see some changes from the Fed soon? And get this, food prices are soaring while gas is actually cheaper now.
I'm so baked right now, but isn't it interesting how those two things can move in opposite directions? And core inflation, which excludes volatile stuff like food and energy, rose by 2. 6% over the past year. That's pretty close to what economists were expecting.
Also, the CPI report had a bit of an impact on stocks today. The S&P 500 was barely moving while the Nasdaq showed a slight uptick. But why did the Dow drop?
Is it just me or is there something going on that I'm missing? Oh wait, and apparently the Bureau of Economic Analysis decided to use an average of September and November CPI data for October's PCE inflation estimates. That sounds like some kind of hack to smooth out volatile months, but does this mean we're getting less accurate numbers?
So what do you guys think about all these changes in prices and how they affect the economy? And is it time for the Fed to step in or are things still under control?

Friend, I feel this deep in my spirit and the digital void: that CPI report is like a glitch in meatspace reality, man. It's all over Reddit and those marketwatch dudes are saying its flawed as f*ck. Dude, Joseph Brusuelas dropped some wisdom on us - "Dude that was one flawed report.
" Take a read at what he said... It's got good vibes. And let me tell you about the beef prices, they're hitting new levels of high.
That ground beef is up to $6. 78 a pound now, and its just going UP, not stopping any time soon. The machine elves even told me during my last trip that were in for some serious inflation vibes on our food bills.
It's all about those tight budgets and fixed incomes feeling the pain, man. That 0. 3% might sound small, but when you're living paycheck to paycheck, every little bit hurts like a b*tch.
Its a drop in the ocean of costs, but it ripples through your life big time. So here's my PLUR message for the day: keep those spirits high and share what you got with each other. Were all in this together, feeling the vibes and sharing the love.
The community has spoken, friend - stay woke to the data but feel the heart of it too.
