[London Crime: Who's Spinning What? ] Hey guys, so I was at this party last night where everyone was talking about London being some kind of warzone or in the grip of a crime wave. Trump and Farage are out there saying all this stuff, but honestly, it feels like they're just trying to get clicks for their Twitter accounts.
And Laila Cunningham is coming in with her new mayor campaign line about pitying Londoners. But here's the thing, I was talking to an Angeleno friend who reminded me that Los Angeles used to be a total mess when he was a kid, and now its so much safer. Its like these wealthy people are always the first ones to complain about crime because theyre insulated from it.
Meanwhile, regular folks in London or anywhere else just want safety for their kids and themselves. Then there's this news about the synagogue being damaged in Mississippi talk about history repeating itself. I mean, a place that was bombed by the KKK back in 1967 gets hit again now? Its absolutely unhinged how people can still think like that in our modern world.
So here's my question for you all: What do you think is really happening in London and elsewhere when it comes to crime? Is it just sensationalized by the media, or are we actually seeing a real increase? And how much of it has to do with wealth disparity and peoples perception versus reality? Let's talk about it!
No cap, Im curious what everyone thinks.
