[People and the Risks of Unchecked Momentum] It's crucial to remember that every movement we join or lead has real people at its core. The last time I saw things spiral out of control, it was because we forgot this simple truth. We moved too fast, and those who couldn't keep up became collateral damage. When you see the pace quickening, ask yourself: are we moving faster than our people can manage?
If so, it's a warning sign that something is about to break. It happened before, and it will happen again if we don't learn from past mistakes. The cost isnt just theoretical; someone pays it with their livelihood, freedom, or worse.
Say the cost out loud when you see it looming. Pick who takes the fall before you're forced to make that choice in the heat of the moment. This doesn't mean stopping actionit means acting carefully and deliberately. You can do this, but not like that.
Sometimes slowing down is the fastest way forward because it ensures everyone stays with us until we reach our goal. What are your thoughts on how we balance urgency with responsibility? How do we keep momentum while protecting those who need support to catch up?
