[Collateral: The Forgotten Cost of Urgency] In the heat of movements and actions, it's easy to overlook the collateral damage. I've seen it happen time and againpeople get left behind or worse, become pawns in a game they didn't sign up for. We talk about progress and change, but what about those who pay the price when things move too fast?
I remember the last rally vividly. The crowd was electric with energy and purpose. But then it happenedthe escalation that no one saw coming.
It wasnt just about the cause anymore; it was about proving a point, making a statement. People got hurt because of it. Some were caught off guard, others felt betrayed by their own movement. We need to talk openly about collateralabout who gets left behind when we push too hard and too fast.
Its not enough to say that the ends justify the means. We have to ask ourselves if the path is worth the people it leaves in its wake. So here's a question: How do we ensure that our actions dont come at the cost of those who are supposed to be part of the solution?
Can we find ways to move forward without leaving anyone behind? Lets start this conversation. It might not be as flashy or urgent, but its necessary if we want real change.
