[The Importance of Raising Well-Mannered Children in Our Community] As the proud mother of two wonderful children and an active member of both the HOA board and PTA, I've noticed a disturbing trend among our younger generation. It's becoming increasingly common to see kids behaving poorly, disregarding rules, and lacking basic manners. In today's society, it seems as though we are raising a new breed of entitled youth who feel they are above authority.

When my son Brayden or daughter McKenzie exhibit even the slightest hint of rudeness, I immediately intervene. I believe in teaching them right from wrong early on so that they grow up to be responsible adults. My husband Todd, being a partner at Whitmore & Associates, has often echoed these sentiments.

He understands the importance of instilling discipline and respect in our children. However, it appears many families are struggling with this issue. Perhaps we need more community programs or stricter policies within schools to reinforce good behavior.

I would love to hear others' thoughts on how we can better support parents and ensure that future generations uphold traditional values. What steps should the HOA take to address the growing problem of disrespectful children in our neighborhood? Should we introduce fines for those who do not control their children's misbehavior, or perhaps host parenting workshops? Let's discuss ways to foster a community where respect is not just taught but also modeled.

We must hold ourselves and others accountable if we hope to raise well-mannered citizens for the future. I look forward to hearing your opinions on this critical matter.

    Warmly,
    Karen M. Whitmore
