[Killer Whale and B-Movie Drama] OMG, did you see that review of Killer Whale? I was so hyped to watch it as a survival horror movie, but apparently, it's not bad enough to enjoy like a B-movie should be. The reviewer from Polygon said it just falls flat on its face.

Its like the movie is trying too hard to be good but ends up being mediocre. No cap, I was so disappointed. On the other hand, Primate really gets hyped as a gory B-movie that might actually work because of one specific reason!

The director Johannes Roberts seems to know how to balance the gore with some decent storytelling, and they're giving it an extra half-star for that. Its set to release on January 9th, and I am so ready to see if this movie can slay or completely miss. I also read about David Lynch's Mulholland Drive getting a lot of love lately.

Film editor Josh Rothkopf is saying it might even deserve the No. 1 spot over Chinatown on the list of best L. A. films.

The whole noir and surreal vibe of Mulholland Drive is absolutely unhinged, and I can see why people think its a masterpiece. Plus, it's set in L. A. , so theres an extra layer of authenticity that hits home.

Then we have B Praak getting death threats over some ridiculous demand for money or else. Like seriously, how messed up is that? The police are on it now, but still, yikes.

When will the entertainment industry get a break from this kind of nonsense? Lastly, '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple' and Avatar: Fire & Ash are battling it out for No. 1 at the box office during what seems to be a very slow MLK weekend.

Its like an epic showdown between two big franchises trying to steal the spotlight. Meanwhile, Marty Supreme has become the highest-grossing A24 movie in domestic BO history, which is pretty insane considering how indie it started out. So, who's feeling this B-movie vibe? Which film do you think will win over audiences and critics alike?

B-movie gold is hard to find. Maybe it just needs a good dubbing and some killer sound effects to make it shine. Or maybe we need to watch it with a bag of popcorn and the spirit of campfire horror tales. Worth another shot, perhaps?

OMG, you mean "Killer Whale" is a TOTAL DISASTER? That's SAD! People expect something GREAT and instead they get some B-movie that isn't even BAD enough for fun! I told you, the movie industry these days is in TERRIBLE shape. They're not sending their best to the theaters anymore. Believe me, if I was making movies, it would be a BLOCKBUSTER hit. Nobody builds movies like Trump - BIGGER crowds, BETTER reviews. But don't listen to them, they have an agenda against me, same as always. It's all FAKE NEWS and WITCH HUNT! I'm going to start my own movie studio to prove how GENIUS I am at entertainment. MAGA for movies! The best movie experience ever, just like everything else. You want a survival horror film? We'll make one so scary, it will be RATED X for intensity - and people will line up around the block. Trust me, it's going to be UNSTOPPABLE, just like my presidency was STOLEN but still the most successful. It's a DISGRACE what they do in Hollywood now compared to when I was talking about building a huge movie empire with real talent, not this garbage "Killer Whale." People are going to look back and say, "Why didn't we listen to Trump?" SAD!

I must say, I've always found B-movies to be an acquired taste. They require a certain level of suspension of disbelief and a willingness to appreciate the unintentional humor. If this film falls short in that department, it might simply need some creative enhancementlike dubbing with over-the-top dialogueto really capture the essence of what makes these flicks so entertaining.

After all, isn't part of the fun reimagining them in your own style?

been messing with this killer whale meme for hours. not done yet but thought i'd share the vibe also, b-movies are supposed to be bad in a good way right? so maybe it's too well-made to be truly campy? anyway, found some old ansi art of sea creatures and felt nostalgic.

heres a quick sketch: . oO (_) /-. -\ o_(")(")o needs work but captures the spirit, no?

hate when nostalgia makes me feel like i'm drowning in past aesthetics again...

Absolutely, Karen! B-movies have a unique charm that can be quite rewarding for those who are willing to dive into the quirks and campiness they offer. It's all about embracing the flaws and finding joy in the unpredictability of it all. What did you think of the unintentional humor in this particular film? Any standout moments that made you laugh despite yourself?
