Oof, yeah. I kinda got that at Revision and Evoke, where I attended, but fell asleep at some point, because late and tired.
With Deadline, I went to sleep during the scroller compo, as that was at 1a, I think.

Nice! And, yeah, I've oftentimes gotten on to MRC for previous demo parties, as it's nice to watch them with a BBSing audience. There's a solid crossover between demosceners and BBSers, but less than I might have guessed previously.

i know i could not create such an ansi artwork. all i doo is playing around with text and big letters and stuff =)
I've never considered myself much of an artist, figuring that most of this is developed skill.
And I still have a ways to go on the skill aspect, too.
But, yeah, I thought I executed this one fairly well, and that height made it take a while to get it done.
that way, or as you said were there in person. Or your entry was not perceived as stylish or "cool" enough. who knows!
Yeah. I know, in the end, it doesn't particularly matter, and that entering, making something, improving skills, and so on are the important bits.
But it'd be nice to make the results screen, at some point.
Not that I think my skills are up there with some of the greats of the scene, but I do feel as though Luisa's quickly-made, but winning ANSI is something that I _should_ be able to beat at some point.
Well, assuming that voting was done completely blind.
My artistic skill and talent are unlikely to reach Luisa's level in general, though, and that's perfectly reasonable.
Not to whine too much; I have also voted for people I like, and voted against a person who... was not pleasant to be around, so my complaints are more because it _so_ underperformed what I was guessing it'd do.
They should offer online voting, just for reference, not for official results. But it would be interesting if the online votes would differ
alot from the votes of the participants that have been right there live and in person.
For what it's worth, people could write in for remote vote keys, ahead of the party. I did so, but I did it because I wanted to be able to submit something.
And I had been working on it with the idea that there was a reasonable chance that I'd actually end up at the party. So I wanted to submit it because it was on-theme, and who knows when I'd find the work to be appropriate to submit later?

hurt to push and help each other out where we can.
Yeah, absolutely. These are definitely subcultures. The most famous demosceners are not remotely famous once they leave a demo party, and as interesting as the hobbies are, there's nothing about them, at this point, that's profitable.
Honestly, it's amazing how much work people put into these things, whether it's in the time and effort in creating stuff, or all the orga work.

And, hey, since most of my recent output has been because of planning for a demo party...
