Cold air spreads widely over the Alps and north; most unsettled around
the Baltic Sea. Bright spells elsewhere but cold. Milder in the
Mediterranean but showers for many and often heavy.
Wednesday
A chilly day in Spain and Portugal. Heavy, frequent showers or longer
spells of rain affecting northern areas of Spain, dry and sunny
elsewhere in Iberia. Some showers too in the Balearics, Corsica and
Sardinia, though mostly sunny. Mostly sunny in Italy with scattered
showers in the south and west. Dry with bright spells in the northern
Baltics, showery to the south with a broader area of heavy rain in
north and west Greece. Dry in Türkiye and brighter south and east.
A frosty morning from southern France eastward across the Alps,
southern Germany and Poland, as well as Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary;
bright in these areas in the morning but increasingly cloudy from the
west An unsettled day in northern France with rain, some of it heavy,
strong winds too in the north and west. Unsettled in the Low Countries
and Germany with more rain and showers, strong winds from the North
Sea; some showers may fall as snow. Poland should be drier, sunny
spells here and these extending Romania, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Cold in Scandinavia with widespread morning frost. Cloud and some
rain/sleet for Denmark, further periods of rain in the south of Sweden.
The Baltic States will have cloud and rain/snow too, this extending to
southern Finland. Northern areas of Sweden should be dry whilst wintry
weather affects western Norway. Bright spells in southern Norway.
Thursday
Frequent showers continue drifting onto the north Spain coasts, falling
as sleet or snow on high ground. Some cloud further south but often
bright. More showers for the central Mediterranean islands, these
extending into southern Italy. Drier north but cloudy. Showers along
the Balkan coasts becoming increasingly heavy, and particularly showers
in western Greece. Only odd showers in east Greece and Türkiye; mild
but strong winds through the Aegean into the Black Sea.
Patchy wintry precipitation drifts into France, the Low Countries, and
Germany on a breeze from the North Sea. Broader areas of snow will
affect Switzerland and Austria. Some snow and rain into Czechia,
Slovakia, and Hungary. Largely dry in Poland though some snow in the
southern mountains. Dry with a mix of cloud and sun from Bulgaria
northward through Romania, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Strong winds around the Baltic Sea. Snow in southern parts of Sweden
and Finland, some snow drifting north into central Finland. Generally
dry but cloudy in the Baltic States, some snow showers drifting inland
from the coast later. Dry but cloud in northern Finland and Sweden.
Shower showers drift onto Norway's coasts while inland southern areas
will be largely dry with bright spells, these extending into central
Sweden.
