    Settling southeast with sun
    Windy Scandinavia, rain spells

    Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 8th October 2025
    Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

A settling trend for many, though locally unsettled in the southwest,
more unsettled in the far north.

    Wednesday
Heavy showers developing across northern and central Spain, drifting
east. Drier for southern areas of Spain and Portugal too where there
will be sunny spells. Scattered showers may develop in the Balearics
later in the day. Dry and sunny for Corsica and Sardinia. Fair for
Italy with some morning light showers in the south; otherwise sunny
well into the day, cloud building in the north later. Some scattered
showers in the Balkans, these clearing for frequent sunshine. Scattered
showers again in Greece but similarly clearing for sunny spells. Heavy
    showers and unsettled for Türkiye.
Mixed cloud and sun for France but likely dry. The Low Countries will
also have some cloud and sunny spells, patchy rain arriving midday as
well as in central and northern areas of Germany. A broader area of
rain in western Poland slowly slips east through the day. The south of
Germany, Switzerland, and Austria will be brighter. Hungary and
Slovakia similarly bright and dry. Rain for east Romania and most of
    Bulgaria, at times quite heavy.
Patchy morning rain and cloud in Denmark with sunny spells increasing
afternoon. Frequent showers drift onto Norway's west coast,
increasingly wet in the north later. Cloud and some patchy morning rain
for Sweden, this passing east for good sunny spells. This rain slips
east into Finland, soon widely rainy across the country. A bright
morning for the Baltic States, but this band of rain beginning to
effect western areas later in the day.

    Thursday
Showery with a risk of thunderstorms in southeast Spain. Showers more
scattered elsewhere in Spain, dry and sunny for Portugal. Showers for
the Balearics, also with a risk of thunderstorms. Similarly showers
with heavy bursts for Sardinia and Corsica. Fine for Italy, a few
showers in the mountainous north. Some showers too in Slovenia and
Croatia, the rest of the Balkans fine and dry with plenty of sunshine,
this extending south into Greece. Some morning showers in Türkiye,
these moving east for an improving, fine day.
Some local light rain in central France, otherwise dry with sunny
spells. This chance of rain extends across the Alps and southern
Germany, Czechia, and into Poland. Further north near the coasts, drier
but mostly cloudy. Some scattered rain in Slovakia and Hungary, drier
further east in Romania and Bulgaria with sun spells increasing through
    the day.
A day of patchy rain in Denmark, southern Sweden, and the Baltic States
but with dry and sunny spells mixed in. Finland mostly dry with sunny
spells as well, just some morning rain in the east. Frequently raining
on Norway's west coasts with heavy bursts and a strong westerly wind,
