I promised to re-write my icy* UI layer for a long timey
and the UI library of my choice still hasn't released
the version I need - but I just used their GitHub version to re-write icy_term.

All new UI - more polished & probably broke some things. Threw in
new features/UX. Complete new shaders using WGPU instead of OpenGL -> supports more systems.

Thanks - I'll get it installed and beta test it for a bit on macOS! Great work, and thanks as always, Omnibrain!!

I'll put in a request and see if I can't get someone on it??

I wonder if he tried to edit the message after saving, and before it was sent out. If that is indeed the case, the 'edit' feature isn't retaining echomail properly.

I want to say I've seen this before (maybe once or twice), but I could be way off, too. ;)

Would love to get to the bottom of this one.

I see it often, and while it bugs me, the bigger thing I want to fix is that the message wont go through clrghouz, so if I can programmatically identify it, I can let the sender know to try again.

I think I can only trust the msgid as the true sender it seems...

Using it! Couldn't get ssh to connect. Telnet is working fine.

Just tested ssh - seems to work - could connect to your bbs :). But may be that my version is more recent hard to tell. I gave SSH a quick test before the 0.7.99 release.

Yeah, it was my fault. I hadn't set up a new firewall rule after setting up the malwarebyts plug-in for the windows firewall with outbound rules
    mandatory for traffic.

It needs to scale when I drag the window larger - or, am I missing some way to enlarge the actual [ANSi] screen???

y it should. Try to make the window larger. I added an option for scaling - I've integer scaling now you can opt out of it. Having integer scaling scales 2x, 3x, 4x etc. that gives better results but leaves space.

When Mystic BBSes have those carosel text animations on a menu, keyboard presses aren't always recognized... on 2oFBs Main Menu, for example, its VERY hard to get "/?" [or /anything] entered...

    already fixed.

Love the rewrite - and you know I write down every little thing, but only trying to help!

y ty - it's not finished that's why I gave it a strange version number. Just a dev. pre release for halloween :). It's blocked by upstream libs atm.

This is a good question. I try to make an intuitive easy to use UI. But as a dev you've an other perspective to things.

I like that ppl are using it :). I would like to work more on my bbs things but it's always competing with other spare time activities :/. So giving input surely helps. Now that I've made the WGPU switch for the ansi rendering I hope to give the ansi tools a bit more attention.

Next thing to update is icy view. I take the opportunity to bring the baud emulation to that - rewrote it yesterday for icy term to feel more like a modem. If you've more ideas for the viewer let me know.

y but there is still a lot to do - it's basically a rewrite. But I
thought giving some life signs is worth it. I can need any help :). When the new base works I'll update the other tools too.

    Kk.

    I have a [small!] list of things I notice about the new release that I'm gonna keep up-to-date as I use it. First notes;

I think what you're seeing recently (besides this one that doesn't seem to use an external editor) is a misconfigured Golded. Either way, Mystic should append an origin line to echomail messages if there isn't one already..

I think I can only trust the msgid as the true sender it seems...

I'm not sure, but you could look at some more recent tossers like sbbsecho and HPT to see how they do it.

Obviously not sending an origin line in an echomail message is wrong, but it should probably still be allowed to pass.

True. It's also rare people edit their messages. :)

I was having a convo with someone and more than one of his replies seem
to end mid thought. No tear or origin line.

There's two different situations going on here. One of which we know the cause.

    1) When using an external editor (ie Golded), the settings in Golded take precedence. If you don't set a tearline or origin line in Golded itself, Mystic will pass on the message without them. Mystic should know that if there isn't an origin line on an echomail message, it should append it's own.

    2) Very rare was the one we just saw, where no external editor was listed in the kludges. This could mean it's something internal to Mystic itself, like editing a message that hasn't been tossed yet, etc.

I believe if you disable the PID kludge in Golded, it automatically appends an origin line. You can also specify to use both the origin line and the PID kludge, but I don't think you can disable both on an echomail message. Either way, Golded let's you know somehow that the message originated there. So I don't think the second one would have anything to do with Golded.

As the OP of that message has stated, he was using the message editor at 20FB, which I assume would have been Mystic's built in editor (probably modified, though).

It'd be great if we could find a cause and pass the info on to g00r00
    once he returns.

    s/once/if..
