Interesting thing about Linux was that it had SCO Compatability. It would
run MicroFocus Cobol and would run our product. I have no idea if it can
still do that.
IIRC, wasn't that what caused SCO to eventually try to sue linux, possibly
in an effort to take it over?

You can't sue an object, a product, what-have-you. Only the person(s) or organization/company that owns or is responsible for that object.
SCO licensed UNIX (I think it was SYSV V4.3) from AT&T, and interpreted the license agreement as if it were a transfer of ownership. As SCO saw the their paid UNIX cash cow shrinking because of Linux, they looked to other ways to generate revenues.ourt
SCO believed that IBM contributed UNIX source code to linux. SCO then started shaking down Linux customers for a license fee and suing IBM, a company renowned for the number of attorneys they have on staff. Bad idea.
Long after SCO shipped their last SCO UNIX package, they were tied up in
until the company no longer existed.

something on my shirt?" My shirt, by the way, was the SCO logo with a
red circle and line over it, like "No SCO" kinda thing. Well finally I make it to the main lobby of the MGM, and I see a giant banner that
says "WELCOME SCO WORLD EXPO". Just my luck.
