• Timed event with an error message

From RickV@VERT to All on Thu Sep 11 08:55:54 2025
    Hello everybody!

I'm running this timed event and now getting this error. That file isn't anywhere. The event is jsexec postmsg.js -i%zfilename etc... It's worked under Windows and a Linux VM. Why does SBBS now need dosemnu.bin?

    Now running on LinuxMint/64 Synchronet v3.21a .

    Thu Sep 11 01:30:00 2025 master/8a076b781
evnt BBSADS6 DOSEMU not found: /usr/bin/dosemu.bin

    Thanks,
    RickV

dosemu shouldn't be involved at all when running a .js under Synchronet. Maybe one of your settings for the event isn't right?

    1. You don't need to use jsexec to run postmsg.js
    2. jsexec is a native program, so configure it as such in SCFG and sbbs won't try to use DOSEMU to run it (but you shouldn't need to use jsexec in this context in the first place).
    3. Your DOSEMU configuration is not right, if you care (i.e. need/want to run 16-bit DOS programs on your BBS)
